Polaris is proud to be recognized by Green Economy Canada\u00a0with the Community Impact Award \u2013 highlighting how we are driving positive change while building a more sustainable future for our communities.<\/p>\n
In 2023, we launched the Polaris Community Care Unit (CCU) to address food insecurity in the regions we live and operate. 100% Polaris funded and employee-powered, the CCU conducts monthly deliveries (and more during the holidays) across the Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario and into the USA. Our staff volunteer during paid hours to purchase, pack and personally deliver essential goods and food items to local food banks, soup kitchens, shelters, schools and other food assistance programs.<\/p>\n
But the CCU isn\u2019t just internal \u2013 it now involves our broader network of customers, suppliers and nonprofit partners. From our work with Trucks for Change and the Daily Bread Food Bank to special partnerships with organizations like Fred Victor and Food4Kids, we\u2019ve seen how collaboration magnifies impact. Together, we\u2019re reaching urban centers and remote communities alike, delivering hope alongside supplies.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we started the CCU, the goal was simple \u2013 to make an immediate, meaningful difference in people\u2019s lives.\u201d States Polaris CCU Program Creator, Brenda Brajkovich, \u201cWhat\u2019s happened since has been extraordinary. Our team has embraced the program wholeheartedly, creating a ripple effect of generosity across our entire network.\u201d<\/p>\n
We are thrilled to share that since its inception, the Polaris CCU has distributed more than 35,000lbs of donations to help fight hunger with many more runs scheduled!<\/p>\n
