CONNECTING & COLLABORATING AT THE 7TH WTFC BRIDGING THE BARRIERS EVENT

Thank you, Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada for having us at the 7^th Bridging the Barriers networking seminar!

Yesterday’s event gathered a full range of frontline workers to senior executives and government officials to offer diverse perspectives on various industry topics. We had the pleasure of watching keynote speaker, Sarah McVanel open the day and then attended several insightful panels including Women in Trucking with Hayley Mackay, Hannah MacDonald, Isabelle Fournier (moderated by Polaris CHRO Laura Muir) along with Engaging Today’s Youth (Kelly Henderson) and Ask the Expert (Dr. Audrey Jamal) and the team from Loopstra Nixon LLP.

We’d also like to congratulate the winners announced in today’s award ceremony! This year’s esteemed WTFC Mentorship Award went to Andrea Boddy of Andrea Boddy Consulting for her positive impact as an outstanding mentor in our industry.

It was truly meaningful to see David Kelly, President of Innocon Concrete, receive the WTFC Geri Cox Allyship Excellence Award. Named in honour of Polaris Founder Geri Cox, this award highlights David’s achievements in supporting, encouraging, and uplifting women in a traditionally male-dominated space. While introducing this award, our CEO, Dave Cox shared his gratitude for Geri’s legacy in starting Polaris and how lucky he is to work with her today. This being the first Geri Cox Allyship Award made it even more special, and David Kelly was the perfect recipient. More details on this award can be found here.
