Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
We acknowledge the lands which constitute the present-day City of Mississauga as being part of the Treaty and Traditional Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, The Haudenosaunee (hoe den no shawn nee) Confederacy, and The Huron-Wendat (who ron–when dot) and Wyandot (why in dot) Nations. We recognize these peoples and their ancestors as peoples who inhabited these lands since time immemorial. The City of Mississauga is home to many global Indigenous peoples.
We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants:
Haudenosaunee (hoe den no shawn nee),
Huron-Wendat (who ron – when dot),
Wyandot (why in dot)
Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada
We acknowledge the land we are on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg (Awe – Nish – Nah-beck), the Chippewa (Chip – A - Wah), the Haudenosaunee (Hoe – De – Nah – Show– Nee) and the Wendat (When - Dat) peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Etobicoke is covered by Treaty 13 (also known as the Toronto Purchase) with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
We respect the Indigenous peoples who first lived and continue to live on the land where we reside and work.
At Polaris, we are dedicated to taking actionable steps to educate our staff and deepen our understanding of Indigenous communities. Our focus extends to critical areas such as poverty, hunger, education, and the creation of safe communities. As we continue this journey of learning, we actively seek opportunities to engage in reconciliation efforts.
We are proud to support The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund (DWF), which works to foster cultural understanding and promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. Through awareness, education, and meaningful connections, DWF helps to bridge the gap and build a stronger, more inclusive future for all Canadians.
We are honoured to contribute to this essential work and remain committed to playing our part in fostering understanding and reconciliation towards an inclusive society.
I'm proud of the people at Polaris and the kind of service that our team provides to our valued customers. Nothing is perfect however, and if we let you down in any way I need to know. On the other hand, if you are pleased with our service, I need to know that too. Any suggestion for improvement is always welcome. Please send me your comments.
Thank you,
