Our people are precious to us. That’s why we’re committed to keeping them safe at each of our locations and on the road. At Polaris, we don’t take chances with safety – it’s a non-negotiable foundation to everything that we do. Safety is a sign of respect for our staff, our customers and the communities we serve.
We conduct the following preventative safety measures:
All these measures help to keep our people out of harm’s way. To view our full Health & Safety Policy statement, click here.
We are compliant with all border security programs, SmartWay disciplines and WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) regulations.
To ensure safe and secure transportation, Polaris participates in every border security program – CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism), PIP (Partners in Protection), CSA (Customs Self-Assessment) and FAST (Free and Secure Trade).
We were early adopters of all border security programs and have incorporated automated pre-arrival barcode systems PARS and PAPS to further avoid unnecessary customs delays. Additionally, for some time now, Polaris has integrated ACI (Advance Commercial Information) and ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) with direct data connections to Canadian and US border services to better serve our customers.
For your added convenience, we are also a Canadian and U.S. Customs bonded carrier and can deliver your goods in bond for clearance at destination.
This aids greatly in avoiding unnecessary delays at the border. Our modern fleet is up to date and kept in top shape through a stringent maintenance program. Our technology is continually being updated and plays a hand in numerous aspects of our cross border trucking operation – from automated dispatch to in-cab communication and from EDI and ELD to real-time shipment visibility and management reporting.
