POLARIS JOINS PARTNERS IN PROJECT GREEN FOR A DAY OF REFLECTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP HOSTED BY FOUR COLOURS DRUM CIRCLE

On May 6th, Polaris joined Partners in Project Green (PPG) members for a special event hosted by the Four Colours Drum Circle (FCDC) at the Medicine Wheel Garden in Heart Lake Conservation Park.
Our team members, Fulya, Michelle and Theresa had the privilege of attending this event focused on remembrance and environmental preservation at Medicine Wheel Garden in Heart Lake Conservation Park.
The Medicine Wheel Garden is a sacred space dedicated to healing and peace. The celebration began with a traditional smudging and drumming ceremony led by FCDC, setting a meaningful tone for an important day of reflection.
Our team then joined a guided tour of the garden and learned about Indigenous perspectives on sustainability and stewardship. As part of the hands-on activities, they tended to the garden by pulling weeds and planting pollinators to support its natural health and growth. The experience became even more special when they witnessed baby turtles hatching from their eggs – a rare and beautiful reminder of the living ecosystems we’re working to protect.
We are grateful for opportunities like this that remind us of the importance of working together as a community to take care of the natural land around us. A heartfelt thank you to the FCDC and PPG for including us in this memorable day.
