RECOGNIZED FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE – POLARIS RECEIVES COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD

June 4, 2025

Polaris is proud to be recognized by Green Economy Canada with the Community Impact Award – highlighting how we are driving positive change while building a more sustainable future for our communities.

In 2023, we launched the Polaris Community Care Unit (CCU) to address food insecurity in the regions we live and operate. 100% Polaris funded and employee-powered, the CCU conducts monthly deliveries (and more during the holidays) across the Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario and into the USA. Our staff volunteer during paid hours to purchase, pack and personally deliver essential goods and food items to local food banks, soup kitchens, shelters, schools and other food assistance programs.

But the CCU isn’t just internal – it now involves our broader network of customers, suppliers and nonprofit partners. From our work with Trucks for Change and the Daily Bread Food Bank to special partnerships with organizations like Fred Victor and Food4Kids, we’ve seen how collaboration magnifies impact. Together, we’re reaching urban centers and remote communities alike, delivering hope alongside supplies.

“When we started the CCU, the goal was simple – to make an immediate, meaningful difference in people’s lives.” States Polaris CCU Program Creator, Brenda Brajkovich, “What’s happened since has been extraordinary. Our team has embraced the program wholeheartedly, creating a ripple effect of generosity across our entire network.”

We are thrilled to share that since its inception, the Polaris CCU has distributed more than 35,000lbs of donations to help fight hunger with many more runs scheduled!

Polaris CEO, Dave Cox comments, “The CCU’s success is a testament to what’s possible when a business leads with heart. I’m incredibly proud of our team for turning compassion into action – this  is what true community leadership looks like.”

Thank you to the entire Polaris team for their role in helping us make and impact and thank you to our partners at Green Economy Canada for this meaningful award!
