Polaris Hosts 4th Annual Summer Event – A Day of Coming Together & Community Support!

July 15, 2025

On Saturday, July 12th, we held our 4th annual Polaris Summer Event at the Caledon Fairgrounds. Our team and their families came together for a day filled with delicious food, exciting activities and plenty of laughs. From a live magic show and games of cricket and bingo to our cake-eating contest, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

One of the most anticipated moments of the day was our famous pie-throwing contest and it did not disappoint! President Richard Kunow, Dock Supervisor Richard Benjamin and PGL General Manager Gary Nicholson took pies to the face – all in good fun. It was a definite crowd-pleaser and a fantastic way to raise spirits while raising funds.

In addition to the games and entertainment, we proudly spotlighted our ongoing commitment to giving back. This year, we were honoured to have our community partners join us to celebrate the meaningful work we’ve accomplished together. A heartfelt thank you to the teams at Food4Kids, Trucks for Change, Fred Victor, Partners in Project Green, Earth Rangers and Know Human Trafficking for attending and taking the stage to speak about their causes and collaboration with Polaris.

With this being the first Summer Event since launching the Polaris Sustainability Action Plan, we were excited to also take this time to promote a greener tomorrow. Earth Rangers and Partners in Project Green hosted interactive booths sharing environmental initiatives that can be followed at home and across our communities.

As we’ve done previous years, we took this gathering as an opportunity to support local charities. Following everyone’s participation in our games and raffle draws, we raised $1,245 with proceeds going to Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter, Know Human Trafficking and Earth Rangers. A special thank you to Adonis Samuel from HUB Canada for generously donating several gift card prizes!

Our food drive for the Polaris Community Care Unit was also a huge success! We are incredibly proud to share we collected an impressive 488lbs of non-perishables that will be delivered directly to the Caledon Community Services to support them in the fight against hunger.

This year’s Summer Event was another resounding success, drawing attendees from the Toronto region as well as the USA. Polaris CEO, Dave Cox shares his enthusiasm, “It’s truly remarkable to come together outside of work and build stronger connections across our company. Given all the hard work and dedication our team is always investing, providing them with some well-earned enjoyment is important,” adding, “The sense of fulfillment that comes from knowing our efforts are not only fostering stronger bonds within our team but also leaving a positive impact on our communities is truly fantastic. It’s a win-win situation that makes these moments even more meaningful and rewarding.”

A special shoutout goes to our CHRO Laura Muir, the Human Resources department and all the dedicated volunteers who made this year’s event such a hit! And of course, thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate, give back and make lasting memories together as the Polaris family – until next year!
