PROMOTING INCLUSIVITY IN TRANSPORTATION AT ANNUAL BRIDGING THE BARRIERS EVENT
September 17, 2025
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending the 8th Annual Bridging the Barriers Conference, hosted by the Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada (WTFC) at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mississauga. This impactful event brought together industry leaders, professionals and changemakers to share strategies, build connections and strengthen inclusivity in transportation.
The day was filled with inspiring discussions and keynotes from Jody Urqhart and Timea Nagy who shared powerful stories and insights. Polaris was proudly represented on multiple panels as President, Richard Kunow moderated Strategies, Success & Savings and HR Operations Manager, Colleen Leonard shared her perspective in Bridging Bonds: Mentorship, Culture & Allyship in Motion. Both sessions delivered valuable discussions we can all learn from!
We were also honoured to present the Geri Cox Allyship Excellence Award to Kevin Jennings (GFL) for his outstanding contributions in supporting and uplifting women in a historically male-dominated industry. Named after Polaris Founder, Geri Cox, this award celebrates male allies who are continuing her legacy of transforming the trucking industry into a more inclusive and equitable space for all. Congratulations, Kevin!
Thank you to WTFC for hosting another incredible event that continues to drive progress across our industry!
