Celebrating Nearly 20 Years of Dedication, Congratulations, Pablita Ravelo!

After an incredible tenure with Polaris Transportation Group, we are proud to celebrate the retirement of Pablita Ravelo and recognize the remarkable journey that brought her to Polaris and the impact she has made along the way.

Pablita joined Polaris in 2008 after moving to Canada from the Philippines, where she had built an accomplished career in education as a high school teacher, principal and college instructor. Looking for a new opportunity, she was hired by Polaris CEO Dave Cox as a Customs Clerk, the beginning of what would become an outstanding career with the company.

“When Dave gave me the opportunity, it changed my life,” says Pablita. “I came to Canada looking for a fresh start and Polaris became my second home.”

When she joined the Customs Department, the team consisted of only four people. Over the years, Pablita witnessed both the department and the company evolve through growth, new technology and expansion into new markets. During her time at Polaris, Co-Founder Larry Cox entrusted her with the role of acting Customs Supervisor for five years, reflecting the confidence leadership had in her abilities and judgment.

Polaris also became a family connection for the Ravelos. Both of Pablita’s daughters worked part-time at Polaris while in high school, gaining valuable office experience and her husband later joined the company in a part-time Customer Service role.

“I stayed for almost 20 years because Polaris became family to me,” says Pablita. “The friendships, the support and the people I worked with every day made this a place I truly enjoyed coming to. I will miss my team, our partners and everyone at Polaris.”

Throughout her career, Pablita took great pride in helping drivers move across the border safely and efficiently while keeping freight moving for customers.

“I always wanted to do my job to the very best of my ability,” she says. “Knowing I was helping our drivers and customers every day gave me a real sense of purpose.”

Ask anyone who worked with Pablita what they will remember most and the answer is usually the same: she was someone you could always count on. Dependable, caring, professional and incredibly knowledgeable, she consistently went above and beyond to ensure things were done properly and on time.

“One of the greatest privileges of working with Pablita was that I never truly had to manage her because she managed herself. She understood the responsibility she carried and took immense pride in doing her job exceptionally well. Every day, she balanced the needs of customers, drivers and carrier partners, making sure everyone was taken care of with professionalism, patience and genuine care.” shares Shan Kumar, Director of Customs and Traffic.

While retirement marks the end of her daily role at Polaris, Pablita is not disappearing entirely.

“It’s time for me to focus on my health, spend more time with my family and enjoy this next chapter,” she says. “But I’m not saying goodbye. I’m saying, ‘See you soon.'”
